Scheduled Black Friday badge on Shopify

Updated October 16, 2026

Black Friday is not the time to edit badges by hand at midnight. With a scheduled badge, you prepare the design and the targeting weeks ahead, and the badge shows and hides itself at the dates you set.

RuleOn sale (compare-at price): yes, from Black Friday to Cyber Monday→Black Friday -30%

Why schedule the badge

A Black Friday badge that shows a week early looks like a mistake, and one that stays in December looks careless. Scheduling removes both risks, even if you are busy on the day.

Create the badge from the Black Friday template

In MDBadgePilot, click Create badge and pick Black Friday (Pro). The template contains:

  • Text: Black Friday -{discount}%, with each product's real discount.
  • Condition: On sale (compare-at price) is yes, so only discounted products get the badge.
  • Schedule: from the next Black Friday to the end of Cyber Monday.
  • Design: large black rectangle in the top-left corner.

Prepare your prices, then activate

Activate the badge as soon as it is ready: it stays hidden until the start date. If you set your compare-at prices on the morning of Black Friday, the badge follows them as products are updated.

Your usual Sale badge can stay active. Give the Black Friday badge a higher priority so it shows first on products that have both.

After Cyber Monday

At the end date the badge disappears from your store by itself. Keep it in the app and change the dates next year.

Frequently asked questions

Which dates does the template use?

The next Black Friday weekend: from Friday 00:00 to Tuesday 00:00 (end of Cyber Monday), in UTC. You can change both dates in the badge editor.

Which plan do I need?

Scheduling is a Pro feature ($7.99/month, 7-day free trial). The trial is enough to prepare and test the badge.

Can I use it for other events?

Yes. Any badge can get a start and an end date on the Pro plan: summer sale, Christmas, a weekend flash sale.

How precise is the start time?

Schedules are checked every 5 minutes, so the badge appears within a few minutes of the start date.
